My mom started a new Christmas Eve tradition when we (me and my siblings) became adults and left the house! At first, I was not so sure how I felt about it. But with a few years under my belt, I’m starting to enjoy formal family Christmas Eve dinners! My husband and I have recycled bridesmaid’s dresses and groomsman’s suits for it. I’ve worn last-minute Amazon fits, and one year, I found a little satin outfit at Francesca’s in the mall with about 30 minutes to spare. BUT THIS YEAR, I am prepared! Was it perfectly easy to get them in their dress clothes? Absolutely not. Are the formal family Christmas pictures ones I hope we look back on and love? Absolutely yes!
One idea for moms of newborns…go all out for your baby girl! Order the tule dress! Don’t skimp or worry that it won’t be worth it. Save the Christmas dress and give it to your daughter as a keepsake when she’s older.
