When my husband and I talked about getting engaged (over 5 years ago now, awww!), we originally dreamed up a black-tie New Year’s Eve wedding! And I still see the trend happening today. I think it’s such a special way to bring in the new year. Plus, winter and the holidays are packed with reasons to dawn your black tie formal wear, so let’s look at some, shall we??
Side note: I’ve been writing about formal family holiday outfits for the last week, all inspired by my mom’s most recent Christmas Eve tradition, a formal dinner complete with family photos, hors d’oeuvres, and cocktails. It is a classy event that we are all beginning to love. Especially when we make the big reveal of the 5 grandkids in their suits and frilly dresses. It’s by far my favorite part. Earlier this summer, my husband and I flew to the UK for a fairytale black tie wedding, and the halter dress on the right was the one I wore! It traveled well and I plan to wear it again this Christmas Eve.
